This policy explains what personal information Tivy collects through tivy.co and our plugins, why, and what rights you have. We collect as little as we can.
Who is responsible
Tivy, a trading name of Grosvenor Computer Services, Calle el Horno 25, Adeje 38678, S/C de Tenerife is the controller of the personal information described here, under the data protection laws that apply to us, including the EU GDPR and, for customers in the UK, the UK GDPR. Contact: [email protected].
The free plugin
Shipping Rate Tables for Flexible Shipping, the free plugin on WordPress.org, collects nothing. It doesn’t contact our servers, set cookies or track your site’s visitors. It only reads your shipping settings to build the tables.
The Pro add-on and licences
When you buy Pro, Freemius, Inc. handles the checkout as merchant of record. Freemius collects your name, email address, billing address and payment details, and shares with us your name, email address, country, what you bought and your licence details. We never see your card details.
When you activate Pro on a site, it connects to Freemius to check your licence and deliver updates. It sends your site’s address, the WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP and plugin versions, the licence key, and the email address of the admin who activates it. This is shown on screen when you activate. Pro doesn’t send anything about your customers, orders or shipping rates.
Freemius is based in the United States and processes this information for us under a data processing agreement that includes safeguards for international transfers. See the Freemius privacy policy.
The postcode check in Pro runs entirely on your own site. The postcode district list it uses is built into the plugin, so no postcodes are sent anywhere.
When you email us
If you email us, we keep the email and our reply so we can help you and see the history if you get in touch again. Our email is hosted by Microsoft 365.
If you ask for help with your site, we may need to see your shipping settings or log in to your site with your permission. We only use that access for the problem you’ve asked about, and we ask you to remove it afterwards.
Visiting tivy.co
Our website is hosted by IONOS and served through Cloudflare, which keep short-term server logs (IP address, browser and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We use Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. Essential cookies keep the site working; no advertising cookies are used.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To sell you a licence, provide updates and support: to perform our contract with you.
- To keep accounting and tax records: because the law requires it.
- To answer enquiries, keep the website secure and understand how it’s used: our legitimate interest in running the business, balanced against your rights.
- Optional analytics cookies: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We’ll only email you about your licence, renewals, important plugin updates and support. We don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve opted in, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Only the services we need to run the business: Freemius (sales, licences and updates), Microsoft (email), our web host and Cloudflare (the website), and our accountants (tax records). We don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Sales and invoice records: six years after the end of the tax year, as UK tax law requires.
- Licence and account details: for as long as your licence is active, and up to two years after it ends in case you return.
- Support emails: up to two years after the last message.
- Server logs: a few weeks.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interest. Email [email protected]; we’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
We’ll update this page if anything changes and show the date at the top.
